The Value of Data Visualisation in Complex Projects

$0.00

The Value of Data Visualisation in Complex Projects paper was created by Jackie O’Dowd and Weidong Yang for publication in the IICPM (International Centre for Complex Project Management) CONNECT journal Issue 53 August 2024.

The thesis of this paper is that managers of complex projects can benefit from the combination of human interaction combined with intelligent visualised systems to drive economic, social, and knowledge value. Visualising data plays a crucial role in helping to better understand cost structures, resource allocation, risk, and opportunity. Data visualisation and analytics should be strategic and tactical components of complex projects. In an average project, multiple inputs and outputs are used to form a view of the overall project status, which often means, we do not always see what we what we do not expect to see.
